Designing the future: Information event for training on July 19!

The district mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) invites you to the information event "Paths in the training", which takes place on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the halls at the Borsigturm in Berlin. This event is aimed specifically at parents and children who are about to graduate. Their goal is to offer comprehensive information about various training paths, dual courses and transitional opportunities to work. Information stalls from numerous training companies, institutions and consulting facilities can be found on site.

The participating companies include Borsig, the Bundeswehr, the Caritas Clinic Dominikus, the German Pension Insurance BUND, DM Drogeriemarkt, the Euro Academy, Fielmann, Mago, Buderus, MediaMarkt and many more. The event is organized in cooperation with the Euro schools, the youth professor Berlin and the business development agency of the Reinickendorf district office, and admission is free; Registration is not required.

Information on training paths

The event will offer a valuable opportunity to have personal conversations with companies, ask questions and get to know various offers. The podium talks, which are also part of the program, will provide additional information about different types of training. According to the Federal Employment Agency there is a variety of training channels for young people, whereby there is a fundamental distinction between civil servants and non-official.

civil servants go through a “preparatory service” that divides into technical and non -technical service depending on the desired career. But the medium -sized non -technical service also includes interesting perspectives, for example in the judicial service or social administration. A medium -sized educational qualification is usually required for the middle services.

The dual system vocational training, which is high in securing skilled workers in Germany. Over half of a year of age choose this educational path, which underlines the importance of dual training. The duration of training varies between two and three years, in some cases even up to three and a half years.

A central aspect of dual training is the combination of operational and school learning. The majority of the trainees have an average school leaving certificate or a university entrance qualification at the start of the training. In addition, the training costs and the remuneration are determined during this time, which means that the training allowance is usually about a third of the initial content for trained specialists.

The organizers of the information event want to help young people to master a successful transition from school to working life through extensive opportunities for information and interaction.
