Worldwide first catalog chatbot revolutionizes library search
In a groundbreaking development, the world's first catalog chat bot was developed for the association of public libraries Berlin (VöBB). The chat bot is able to speak over 90 languages and offers simple recommendations for media from the catalog. With its ability to reduce barriers in the catalog and improve the accuracy of the media when searching for media, the chatbot is an innovative solution for library users.
With the chatbot, users can, for example, provide specific inquiries, such as: "I'm sad, find a film that cheer me up" or "I remember a book with three crazy old women". The chat bot then provides quick and competent answers as well as several suggestions for the search. This intuitive and user -friendly functionality makes it easier to access the library catalog for a variety of customers.
The chatbot consists of two AI systems: a system that interacts with the users and a system that researches and specializes in the catalog to react to diffuse search queries. This advanced technology enables the system to recognize the needs of users and give suitable recommendations, even if certain information is not explicitly stored in the data record.
Cultural city councilor Harald Muschner (CDU) explains that the chatbot is an important addition to the library and enables users to find suitable media in a simple manner. The project marks an important step towards a modern and user -friendly library experience.
