Star hike 2019: Seniors celebrate successful event

Die beliebte Sternwanderung für Senioren fand auch in diesem Jahr wieder statt. Über 200 Senioren aus verschiedenen Richtungen kamen am 28. Juni in der Senioren-Freizeitstätte Adelheid-Allee zusammen. Dort erwartete sie ein Fest mit Musik, Snacks, einem Vorspeisenbuffet und Kuchen. Die Atmosphäre war locker und bot reichlich Gelegenheit zum Austausch und zur Unterhaltung. Auf dem Gelände beteiligten sich verschiedene Gruppen und Organisationen mit Infoständen, darunter die Seniorenvertretung, die Hausbesuchslotsen, die Beauftragte für Menschen mit Behinderung und das Ehrenamtsbüro. The popular star hike for seniors took place again this year. Over 200 seniors from various directions came together on June 28th in the Adelheid-Allee senior citizens. There a festival awaited her with music, snacks, a starter buffet and cake. The atmosphere was relaxed and offered plenty of opportunity to exchange and entertain. Various groups and organizations with information stands, including the senior citizens' representative, the home visit slots, the representative for people with disabilities and the volunteer office.

District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) thanked the committed seniors in her speech and praised her tireless efforts. The event was a complete success and will definitely be repeated next year. It was a wonderful get -together that strengthened the community and emphasized the importance of volunteering for seniors. Such an event helps to improve the quality of life of older people and give them the opportunity to actively participate in social life. At a time when loneliness and social isolation are unfortunately widespread among seniors, such events are of great importance.
