diversity and tolerance in the focus of the youth festival Reinickendorf

On July 13th and 14th, 2024, the third youth festival Reinickendorf will take place on the Festwiese on the Borsighallen in Berlin Tegel. Young visitors can expect a varied program with various highlights:

  • on Saturday, July 13th, 2004, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., a big party with live acts and DJs is on the program.
  • on Sunday, July 14, 2004, from 12 noon to 6 p.m., visitors can relax at live music and fun at Street or American Football.

Over 30 exciting music acts from Reinickendorf, Berlin and all over Germany present their skills on the main stage. On the festival meadow, visitors can enjoy culinary delights and refreshing drinks at fair prices. In addition, you can expect exciting actions such as "sneaker upcycling" for individual shoe designs, printed T-shirts with individual messages and a "glam-up" for the perfect festival look.

For several years, over 20 young people from Reinickendorf have been working intensively on planning and implementing the festival. From the selection of acts to marketing to organization and implementation, they are supported by experienced festival coaches. The motto of this year's festival, "Heatwave. The sound against intolerance", emphasizes the commitment of young people for diversity and against intolerance.

District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) recently paid tribute to the organizers with the Reinickendorfer volunteer award and praised their commitment to the local community. The initiator and sponsor of the project, the Reinickendorf district office, as well as patron of the festival, district councilor Alexander Ewers (SPD), also emphasized the importance of youth work in the district and the positive example that the young people set with their festival.
