Die Sanierungsmaßnahme im nördlichen Bereich der Gartenstadt Frohnau wurde erfolgreich abgeschlossen und die Schönfließer Straße zwischen Gollanczstraße und Senheimer Straße wieder für den Verkehr freigegeben. Die Bauarbeiten begannen im September 2022 und umfassten die grundhafte Erneuerung der Fahrbahn und der Seitenbereiche der Schönfließer Straße auf einer Länge von etwa 450 Metern sowie eines Teilabschnitts der Senheimer Straße auf einer Länge von etwa 40 Metern. Trotzdem die Berliner Wasserbetriebe mehr Zeit für ihre Maßnahmen benötigten, konnten die Bauarbeiten innerhalb der geplanten Bauzeit abgeschlossen werden. The construction work began in September 2022 and included the fundamental renewal of the road and the side areas of Schönfließer Straße over a length of around 450 meters and a section of Senheimer Strasse over a length of around 40 meters. The street design with an asphalt ceiling in the middle and the two adjacent water -permeable paving fits seamlessly into the area and results in an attractive overall picture. The principle of the "sponge city" in connection with the Neue Straße already shows positive effects by seeping rainwater on site and not led to the sewage system unused. The road thus serves as a catch area for rainwater and creates vital space for street trees.

Julia Schrod-Thiel, district councilor of the order, environment and transport department (CDU), is pleased about the successful renovation measure and emphasizes the long-term advantages of the new street concept. The comprehensive renewal of Schönfließer Straße forms the basis for further street renovation measures in the catchment area around the Ludwig-Lesser-Park.

The successful renovation of Schönfließer Straße and the introduction of the concept of the "Schwammstadt" have a positive impact on the environment and the quality of life of the residents. The renewal of the street not only improves the infrastructure, but also a contribution to sustainable water management.
