Digital acts in the Reinickendorf district office on the road to success

The district office Reinickendorf has taken a crucial step towards digitization to say goodbye to stamp cushions, file folders and paper mountains. As early as August 2022, the Reinickendorf district office started the introduction of digital acts into everyday administrative life with a project order. Despite some organizational and technical challenges, there have been initial successes since December 2023. Seven pilot areas with around 80 users can now use the state unit software "NSCALE" for their work.

The plan provides for increasing the total number of users in the Reinickendorf district office by the end of the 2nd quarter of 2024. A total of around 1,500 IT workstations are to be equipped with the digital file. District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) emphasizes the importance of this step in order to align the district administration in a future-oriented manner and optimize internal administrative processes.

Despite critical media reporting on digital acts, the district office Reinickendorf bravely and consistently relies on the continuation of the introductory process. The mayor emphasizes that the more people use the digital acts, the better their experiences and needs can flow into the further development of the software product at the state level. The Reinickendorf district office is clearly committed to this important digitization project of the State of Berlin and will actively participate in its constructive further development.

The digitization of administrative work is an important step towards increasing efficiency and modernizing the public sector. The introduction of the digital acts can accelerate processes, save resources and to create cooperation within the administration more flexible and revisionally.
