Die niedersächsische Stadt Melle und der Berliner Bezirk Reinickendorf feierten kürzlich das 60-jährige Bestehen ihrer freundschaftlichen Beziehungen, die 1988 offiziell in einer Städtepartnerschaft besiegelt wurden. Eine fünfköpfige Delegation aus Reinickendorf, angeführt von Bezirksbürgermeisterin Emine Demirbüken-Wegner, besuchte Melle für ein zweitägiges Festwochenende. Seit 2021 ist Jutta Dettmann Bürgermeisterin in Melle und sie empfing die Delegation herzlich. Höhepunkte des Besuchs waren Reden im Rathaus, bei denen Emine Demirbüken-Wegner die Ehre hatte, sich in das goldene Buch der Stadt einzutragen.
