Final concert: Students enchant in the Fontane House with film music!

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, the final concert of the 12th Bega film music project takes place in the Fontane-Haus in the Märkisches Viertel. The event begins at 7:00 p.m., with admission to 6:30 p.m. This evening, students from the Gustav Freytag School present a varied program that focuses on emotions, creativity and young talents. berlin.de reports that the program items are included among other things by Hans Zimmer and Ennio Morricone. In memory of the two concise composers, the piece "Gladiator" by room and "Play me the song of death" by Morricone is listed.

The goal of the Bega film music project is to promote the musical and artistic potential of young people in a professional setting. The young musicians have prepared themselves for several months, working closely with experienced colleagues as well as educators.

Ennio Morricone and Hans Zimmer

Ennio Morricone, one of the greatest film composers in history, died at the age of 91 on July 6, 2020. His death was a bitter loss for the music and film world. Morricone had written the music for more than 500 films, including iconic works such as the melodies from Sergio Leones Spaghetti-Western, including "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly". nme reports that Hans Zimmer praised the influence of Morricone on his own career and whose melodies saw as a significant part of his work. Room remembered that Morricone had taught him that the simplest melodies are often the most difficult to write.

Zimmer described Morricone as an icon and emphasized the high quality of his music, while pointing out that its melodies will remain imperishable in the future. He paid Mortricone by mentioning his most important works, such as the music for "The Mission" and "Once Upon A Time in America".

The importance of musical support

The importance of musical support is also underlined by the programs of the Goethe Institute, which often arise in cooperation with local partners. The Goethe-Institut is committed to supporting young and amateur musicians from Germany by having the opportunity to carry out concert tours and direct workshops. The artistic development of talents is promoted not only in Germany, but also in developing and transformation countries. This illustrates how important a sound musical education is to develop the potential of young artists.

The upcoming concert on June 26, 2025 is not only a celebration of the musical talent, but also a tribute to the great composers who have shaped film music. In particular, the connection between the young generation and the legacy of Ennio Morricone and Hans Zimmer will be clear that evening.
