Rammstein singer Till Lindemann provokes allegations of abuse with sayings - a certificate of poverty for the band!
Rammstein singer Till Lindemann provokes at a concert in front of 60,000 fans with sayings about the allegations of abuse against him. His band lets him grant him and draws a lot of criticism.
The first two of a total of three Rammstein concerts in the Berlin Olympic Stadium caused a sensation. Till Lindemann used his appearances in his very own way: on Saturday evening he changed the text of the song "Fear". Instead of the "black man" you no longer have to be afraid, but: "Everyone is afraid of Lindemann!"
On Sunday evening, Lindemann did not complain during the ballad that the birds no longer sing. Instead, he sang: "Woe to me, oh hurt, and the singers no longer fuck." It is believed that Lindemann alludes to the current allegations of abuse. He is accused of having exploited his position to perform sexual acts on women.
The question is: why does Lindemann do that? Is it a swipe of a man who has said almost exclusively through his lawyers? Does he think his statements are humorous or profound? Rammstein texts often address sexual assault, and it is often argued that this is the separation between art and artist. But how lyrical is Lindemann still when he steps out of his role as an artist and becomes a commentator of his own situation?
No matter whether intended or not: With his words, the singer mocks everyone who has experienced sexual attacks and have publicly commented on it. Lindemann shows all listeners that he does not take the allegations and the women concerned seriously. In a society in which only a few sexualized attacks are displayed and even fewer perpetrators are convicted, this is a devastating signal.
After the first allegations against their singer became known, the band said that they were taking the allegations seriously and that the women concerned had the right to express their view of things. But during the concerts, no band member intervened when Lindemann tore his sayings. This shows that it is a problem for the entire volume and not just a isolated case at Till Lindemann. The band members just don't take the matter and the women concerned seriously.
also drummer Christoph Schneider had publicly stated in mid -June that there were “things” around Lindemann that he was not in order. But he also allowed Lindemann's comments during the concerts - twice. These statements now appear unbelievable.
An Instagram contribution by guitarist Richard Krusppe also suggests that there were no larger objections to Lindemann's behavior within the band. Instead of criticizing the front man or not commenting on the Berlin concerts, he thanked for the "magical vibes" of the evening.
All of this contradicts the band's statements that the women concerned do not judge the women concerned. Lindemann's lawyers indicate the claims of women that they have been stunned at concerts with knockout drops or alcohol to enable sexual actions as untrue. The Berlin public prosecutor's office is currently investigating Lindemann, but the presumption of innocence applies.
