Police before Bathsheva dance: Touching spectacle in Berlin under protection!

An impressive guest performance by the Batheva Dance Company from Israel in the Haus der Berliner Festival was accompanied by a massive police force. At a place that is normally known for its cultural events without such requirements, around 20 people with Palestinians demonstrated behind a barrier. According to the BZ Berlin , visitors to the theater had to endure strict admission controls, which strongly shaped the scope of the event. It is an unfortunate picture that such a renowned dance ensemble as Bathsheva, which has often occurred in Berlin, occurs in such a context.

The performance also offered deep and emotional content. Choreographer Ohad Naharin presented impressive pictures in his play “Momo” that play with topics such as war, loneliness and longing for closeness. The representations on stage, supported by the sounds of Laurie Anderson and the Kronos Quartet, produced powerful associations for war and human existence. With virtuoso dances, the artists not only applauded, but also standing ovations from a sold -out audience on Friday and Saturday.

family -friendly entertainment in the comic opera

At the same time, the Komische Oper Berlin inspires with a performance of "The Little Witch". As the Tagesspiegel reported, the direction of Martina Gredler convinces with a child-friendly staging that captivates both children and adults with humor and without horror. The composer Franz Wittenbrink gives production musical depth by combining jazz elements with classic aspects. The outstanding actors, especially Maria-Danaé Bansen and Michael Heller, bring the characters to life with lively joy of playing, while the children's choir and the orchestra under the direction of Anne Hinrichsen ensure a stylistically flexible background.

The diverse cultural events in Berlin show how strong the city's artistic life is - despite the current challenges. Both the intensive topics of the Batheva Dance Company and the cheerful staging of the small witch reflect the range and the liveliness of the art scene.
