Improved pedestrian crossing for more traffic safety in Pankow

improvement in traffic safety through new pedestrian crossing in Pankow

The Neumannstraße/Elsa-Brändström-Straße in Pankow is now richer by two pedestrian crossings, which have recently been completed. These new overweights offer pedestrians on the southern road side of the Elsa Brandström-Straße and the eastern side of Neumannstrasse better and safer opportunities for crossing. In particular, the pupils of the Kurt Tucholsky high school benefit from this measure because they now have a safer way to school.

Due to the construction costs of around 117,000 euros, the pedestrian crossings were financed by the “Measure to increase traffic safety for pedestrians” from the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment. District City Councilor for Order and Public Space, Manuela Anders-Granitzki, emphasizes the importance of these improvements, in particular for the safety of the school beginners and other students who will now have a much safer way to school at the beginning of the school year.
