U16 European elections in Pankow: Children and adolescents are called for election
From May 27th to 31st, children and adolescents across Germany have the opportunity to vote as part of the U16 European elections. In Pankow, too, numerous polling stations of and with children and adolescents open their doors to inform and equipped with ballot papers, self -designed ballasts and much more.

In Pankow, various actions take place as part of the U16 European elections. On May 27 from 2:30 p.m., interested parties in the Königstadt youth culture center can take part in the "Meet Your Local Politician" campaign, in which politicians: there are a European election quiz. On May 28th from 1:00 p.m., a first voter will take place: interior campaign in the Mauerpark, organized by the Children's and Youth participation department together with the children's and youth office Mitte. On May 29 from 1:00 p.m., visitors to the children's festival in Pankow can take part in a mobile polling station, quiz and information stand. On May 31 from 2:00 p.m. there will be a street festival at the family center in Prenzlauer Berg with quiz, mobile polling station and information.
The U16 elections always take place nine days before an official election date. The U16 elections focus on political future discussions, even among children and adolescents. The U16 initiative aims to promote political education through dealing with the political system and the discussion of one's own topics and priorities.
The U16 elections are open until 6 p.m. and the results are entered in software and published. Everyone under the age of 16 who are in Germany can take part in the U16 elections. The polling stations should be open and freely accessible and can be set up anywhere where children and young people are.
