New parking access on the Weißen See: construction work completed, soon exposed to release
A new parking access on the Weißen See is about to be completed and is expected to be accessible to visitors by mid -August 2024. The construction work that started in October 2023 has progressed well and the creation of a new staircase and a barrier -free ramping system have already been completed.
The parking access on Berliner Allee, opposite Wegenerstrasse, had fallen greatly due to its structural condition and urgently required renovation. The district office Pankow implemented this step as one of the first measures to renew the park on the Weißen See.
However, the release of the parking access is still a little long in coming, since the assembly of the fall protection on the ramp system and the stair railing is still pending. These important safety elements delay the final step to enable the use of access. The manufacturers are responsible for the production and installation of these necessary elements.
Nevertheless, the project was completed by the end of July or in mid -August 2024 at the latest. The construction work was carried out by Alpina AG, Berlin branch, and the total costs are around 575,000 euros.
