New parking spaces in Weißensee released from June 3, 2024

Die Schönstraße in Weißensee wird voraussichtlich ab dem 3. Juni 2024 im Abschnitt von der Blechenstraße bis zur Großen Seestraße wieder für den Individualverkehr geöffnet. Diese Maßnahme ermöglicht es den Verkehrsteilnehmern, den Abschnitt in beiden Richtungen zu befahren und die neu hergestellten Parkflächen zu nutzen. Darüber hinaus stehen die beidseitigen Gehwege wieder für Fußgänger zur Verfügung. Bezirksstadträtin für Ordnung und Öffentlicher Raum, Manuela Anders-Granitzki, begrüßt die Wiedereröffnung der Schönstraße und betont die Erweiterung der Parkmöglichkeiten als positive Entwicklung für die Anwohner und Besucher des Viertels. The Schönstraße in Weißensee is expected to be opened again for private transport from June 3, 2024 in the section from Blechenstraße to the Großer Seestrasse. This measure enables road users to drive the section in both directions and use the newly produced parking space. In addition, the sidewalks on both sides are available for pedestrians again.

District Councilor for Order and Public Space, Manuela Anders-Granitzki, welcomes the reopening of Schönstrasse and emphasizes the expansion of parking as a positive development for the residents and visitors of the quarter. She thanks all those affected for their patience during the construction work that led to inconvenience.

The next section of Schönstraße, between Paul-Oestreich-Straße and Amalienstraße, will be completely closed to private transport from June 10, 2024. Extensive management work is to be carried out in this area, followed by a basic road renovation. A detour is signposted via the Roelcke or Parkstrasse. The full closure of this section is expected to be required for one year until June 2025.
