Creative competition Wilder Weißer See calls children to ideas for people and nature
The district office Pankow calls children and adolescents aged 5 to 15 to submit their ideas how humans and nature can live harmoniously in the park on the Weißen See. The deadline for the creative competition is June 4, 2024. The campaign aims to highlight the importance of the White Lake as a habitat for wild animals and at the same time to inform about renovation measures and climate adjustments at the lake.
The park in the Weißensee district suffers from misuse and overuse, which leads to considerable damage, especially along the bank. This affects the living conditions of the wild animals in the park. The creative competition "Wilder Weißer See" focuses on how people and wild animals can live together. Topics such as bathing exclusively in the lido, the non -feeding of water birds and the attention of the breeding season are the focus.
The children and young people can paint or tinker their ideas and have the chance to win great prizes. The best submissions are published as posters in the park. Submissions must be sent to the Blau GGmbH office, Wilder Weisser See, Mansfelder Straße 48, 10709 Berlin by June 4.
The district office Pankow can use funding from the federal program "Adjustment of urban rooms to climate change" for the sustainable renovation of the park in the area of the clock zone, paths and space as well as for redesigning selected parking areas.
The creative competition should not only raise awareness of the environment and the wild animals in the park on the Weißen See, but also promote the participation and creativity of the young generation. The campaign encourages children and adolescents to take responsibility for their local habitat and actively work for the protection of nature.
A table with information on the submitted ideas and the winning contributions could be an interesting addition to this creative competition. This could be visualized and presented by the diverse approaches and suggestions of solutions for children and adolescents.
