Wrong tree -cut information in Prenzlauer Berg - District Office informed
The district office Pankow recently informed about improper notices on the trees in Immanuelkirchstrasse in the Prenzlauer Berg district. This was incorrect information about alleged tree -cutting measures that do not correspond to the truth. These notices were immediately removed from employees of the road and green space office after becoming known. It is emphasized that the last cutting measures were carried out in spring 2023 for reasons of traffic safety and since no further measures have been carried out.
The spread of incorrect information about tree-cut measures can not only lead to uncertainty of the residents, but also to damage to the trees themselves. Therefore, the Pankow street and green area office has filed a complaint against unknown persons to be held.
Historically, the city of Berlin has a long tradition of tree protection and the maintenance of green areas. In recent years, measures have been increasingly taken to maintain and protect the trees in the city. Wrong information about tree cuts can counteract these efforts and negatively influence the cityscape. In the following table, some facts about the tree stocks in Berlin are listed:
| District | Number of trees | Average age |
| ————— | —————— | ——————– |
| Pankow | 50,000 | 60 years |
| Middle | 45,000 | 55 years |
| Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf | 40,000 | 50 years |
It is important that citizens are aware that official information on tree care and cuts come from the responsible authorities and not from non -authorized sources. False information can not only endanger the health of the trees, but also the security in public space.
