OXG builds over 41,800 fiber optic connections in Tempelhof-Schöneberg: free of charge and future-proof

As a strategy partner of the city of Berlin, OXG Glasfaser GmbH announces a comprehensive infrastructure measure for the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district. A total of more than 41,800 households are supplied with fiber fiber. The owners can now register for free expansion. The connection to the fiber optic network enables powerful and future-proof internet access and positions Tempelhof-Schöneberg as a digitization forwarder.

OXG Glasfaser GmbH announced in February to carry out a comprehensive fiber optic expansion for a total of 900,000 households as a strategy partner of the city of Berlin. Now the expansion in Tempelhof-Schöneberg starts. The Initiative pursues the goal of supplying as many households as possible with the broadband solutions of tomorrow and relies on an open network that enables residents to choose the provider and product.

fiber is considered the technology of the future because it offers high speeds and a reliable transmission quality. Each residential unit gets its own connection, which guarantees a trouble -free connection with strong use. In addition, an increase in value of the real estate is forecast, which offers an additional incentive for owners.

oxg stands for "Open Access glass fiber" and builds an open fiber optic network, through which not only vodafone but also other internet providers can offer their products. The connection to the OXG network is free of charge for owners and residents and with no additional effort.

The expansion in Tempelhof-Schöneberg takes place regardless of a pre-marketing rate. Owners can now agree to the expansion, either digitally via the website or directly on site by Vodafone's media consultant on behalf of OXG. The internet contracts are expected to be ordered from Vodafone from 2024, and in the future other telecommunications providers will also be able to offer fiber optic products via the OXG network.

On May 23, 2024, an online information event for the OXG glass fiber expansion takes place in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district. Here interested people can ask all questions about the expansion in the live chat.

OXG Glasfaser GmbH is a subsidiary of Vodafone GmbH and is based in Düsseldorf. The management consists of Dr. Sören Trebst, Matthias Ospelkaus and Stefan Rüter.
