group trips in the trend: Omio presents innovative seat reservations for train and air travel
The world's leading travel platform has announced that it has introduced two new features to make traveling easier to book seat reservations. With “Seat Maps”, travelers can now reserve their seats on rail travel, while “Seat Maps Air” offers the opportunity to optionally book a seat on flights.
These new features are available to both German and Italian travelers. In Germany, seat reservations for trains from Deutsche Bahn, Trenitalia, Frecciarossa and Italo can be carried out. The function for air travel is available for flights from Airlines such as Easyjet, Eurowings, Iberia, Transavia, Aegean Airlines, Lufthansa Group, Vueling and Air France / KLM Group.
The goal of Omio is to offer travelers a platform on which they can manage their entire travel planning. With these new features, users receive even more information about the seat reservations offered and have control of their choice of seats.
The seat reservations service enables travelers to select their seats depending on their personal preference. Whether a window seat, a seat on the corridor or in the calm compartment of a train - with a clear seating plan, travelers can view the available places and reserve the desired place.
Veronica Diquattro, President B2C & Supply at Omio, explains: "We are committed to the optimization of the travel planning at Omio. We are therefore pleased to present a fundamental innovation in this area: From now on, our customers can reserve and select their seat in advance when booking train and air travel- be it a window area or a place near the sockets. Possibility to secure the preferred seat early makes the travel planning even more pleasant and smooth. ”
In addition to individuals, group travelers in particular benefit from these new features. In the past two years, Omio has recorded an increase in the bookings of group tours. More than a third of all bookings in Germany were made by groups during this period. Popular inner-German travel destinations for groups are Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt, which are popular not only because of their tourist attractions, but also due to music and sporting events.
With the new reservation features, friends and families can now ensure that they are sitting together on their trip. Individual travelers also have the opportunity to travel to their individual seating.
Omio also plans to introduce the "Seat Maps" function for trains of SNCF, Ouigo Spain, Renfe and Movelia and also offer "Seat Maps Air" for other airlines.
The company OMIO was founded in 2013 and enables its customers to discover new ways of traveling. With the platforms Omio and Rome2rio, Omio offers comprehensive travel planning for train, bus, flight and ferry connections.
