Olympic Games Paris: Exciting competition for tickets for gymnastics

The first qualification competition in gymnastics for the Olympic Games in Paris took place last weekend. Now the second decisive qualification competition is imminent, in which a starting place for the German team of women is awarded. The German men's team has already qualified as a complete team, but there are still five individual places to be awarded. The coaches have the difficult task of finding the best team for the team competition. So far, according to the men's head coach Valeri Belenki, it has been too early for concrete forecasts. In the finals, however, Lukas Dauser and Andreas Toba showed strong performances.

In contrast, the athletes fight for the last remaining starting place for women. Elisabeth Seitz, Helen Kevric and Karina Schönmaier achieved good results in the finals and lead the race for the starting place. Emma Malewski, on the other hand, had to cancel due to an injury and her Olympic dream has burst for the time being.

For interested media representatives, accreditations for the second Olympic qualification are now possible. In addition, tickets are available for the Olympic qualification in Rüsselsheim.

Following the second qualification, the German Turner Bund (DTB) will announce the athletes who are proposed to the DOSB for nomination. The final decision on the participation of the gymnasts at the Olympic Games lies with the DOSB, which will announce the names after its nomination session on July 2.
