Nuremberg Children's Civil Run: Create more awareness of children's hospice work
community life and memories create
The children's life run takes place at regular intervals, which extends from one children's hospice to the next across Germany. Followers of this campaign, the angel torch, are carried through the whole country by hundreds of supporters on foot, by bike, boat or in a wheelchair and thus draw attention to the important work in the children's hospice. Berlin serves as the start and target point of the run.
A reduction of fears of contact
The main concern of the children's life run is to strengthen awareness of the needs of children, adolescents and young adults with life-shortening diseases as well as their families and environment. In addition, it is pointed out to sensitive issues such as the social exclusion of those affected. Nadine Dier, member of the board of the Federal Association of Children's Hospice, emphasizes the invaluable importance of community in children's hospice work. It offers affected families support, understanding and consolation. Together they create a space of love and acceptance in which valuable memories arise. The children's life run enables people to carefully introduce people to the topic of "child and death" and to reduce fear of contact.
Network for a good cause
In this context, the Nuremberg insurance company chose the motto "Nürnberger & Friends-together for children's hospice work" for its children's life on life. In cooperation with the 1st FC Nürnberg, the HC Erlangen, the Ice Tigers Nuremberg, the Golden Ring Nuremberg, the Bavarian State Sports Association and the Bavarian Tennis Association, a diverse and inclusive hands-on program was set up at the Business Tower Nuremberg and on Richard Wagner-Platz. The partners Franconia Brunnen, Pyraser, Brezen Kolb, Sparkasse Nuremberg and Autohaus Kummich rounded off the commitment. Dr. Natalie Schwägerl-Haack, head of the children's hospice engagement at Nuremberg Insurance, emphasized the impressive and encouraging network. Politicians, entrepreneurs, scientists, athletes and artists actively get involved and contribute to giving people in an important and relaxed environment with children's hospice work.more than local effect
In order to work nationally, the Nuremberg Insurance organized a step challenge via its fitness app: n. The goal of covering the children's life run of 7,000 kilometers within 10 days was brilliantly reached by the app users. As symbolic recognition, Nadine Dier at the Kaiserburg in Nuremberg was able to accept a donation check in the amount of 5,000 euros.
