Reforming emergency care: Johanniter-accident help demands better recognition of the emergency services
Reform of emergency care: better working conditions and competence -oriented use of emergency paramedics required
Berlin - the reform of emergency care is pending, but the emergency services are no longer mentioned. He plays a crucial role in the preclinical care of the patients. The Johanniter accident aid continues to work to improve emergency care and to optimize working conditions for emergency paramedics.
"Our employees do great things every day," emphasizes Thomas Mähnert, member of the Federal Executive Board of Johanniter-Unstall-Hilfe. "With the job profile of the emergency parameter, we introduced the highest non -medical qualification in the emergency services over ten years ago. Unfortunately, your skills are still not fully exhausted."
The Johanniter-Accident Aid therefore demands that the emergency paramedics are used more targeted and that their learned skills may be used across the board. This also includes the use of the emergency paramedics in emergencies, where there is no acute danger to life. "The emergency paramedic training is regulated nationwide, but there are regionally different regulations for preclinical emergency care," explains Kevin Grigorian, Head of Rescue and Medical Services of Johanniter-Accident Aid.
An example of this is drug pain relief, which is regulated differently in different federal states. In some federal states, an emergency doctor is required for the administration of medication, not in others. If emergency paramedics were generally entitled to give medication, time and resources could be saved.
"By faster and better care for the patient and more efficient use of the rescue funds, other emergencies could be processed faster. It is therefore important to include the emergency services when reforming emergency care," emphasizes Grigorian, who is himself an emergency medicine and lawyer.
The Johanniter accident aid continues to work for better emergency care and working conditions for emergency paramedics. The organization is involved in the areas of rescue and medical service, disaster protection, care and care of old and sick people, driving service for people with limited mobility, work with children and adolescents, hospice work and other charitable and humanitarian aid at home and abroad.
The emergency services should not be neglected in the upcoming reform of emergency care. The competencies of the emergency paramedics should be better used to ensure more efficient and nationwide care for patients and to save time and resources. The Johanniter accident aid continues to work to improve emergency care and working conditions for emergency medicine to ensure optimal care for patients.
