Easy cooperation: integration project for young refugees in Neukölln

The integration project of the youth club Feuerwache with the association Nena e.V. in Neukölln shows how easy the integration of young refugees can be implemented. Since June, young people have come together in the Feuerwache youth club in Hannemannstrasse to cook and bake from Haarlemer Strasse together with young refugees. This creates an informal atmosphere in which the young people can get to know and exchange.

After the cooking courses, the young people are invited to play together and use the diverse artificial offerings of Mr. Shamma. Annette Muggelberg, the head of the youth club, emphasizes the importance of this exchange and is happy about the living integration despite possible language barriers.

The meeting takes place every two weeks by the end of the year and is supported by the association Nena e.V., which has been committed to active leisure activities for children and adolescents for years. The projects are financed by means of the Neukölln integration fund and the youth welfare office.

This project is an inspiring example of successful integration and interpersonal relationships within the community. It shows how cultural differences can be overcome through common activities and promoted understanding and solidarity.

A table with information about the number of participating young people, the countries of origin of the refugees and the financial support from the integration fund and the youth welfare office could be a useful addition to further illustrate the effects and context of the project.
