Berlin Administrative Prize 2024: Neukölln wins with automated elementary school.

The district office Neukölln was awarded the Berlin Administrative Prize 2024 for its innovative project for the automated manufacture of new elementary school catchments in the "Process and quality management as well as interdisciplinary cooperation" category. Neukölln was able to prevail under 17 submissions in this category and win the prize money.

The project was initiated by the measurement and geographic information department of the urban development office and offers the school office a tool that replaces the traditional procedures in the reorganization of the catchment areas. By integrating registration data, traffic data and the recording capacities of the primary schools, the new division of the elementary school feeding areas can be automatically carried out. This is mainly necessary due to demographic reasons such as influx or age development as well as capacity reasons on the part of the schools.

City Councilor Jochen Biedermann was pleased with the award of the project and thanked the committed colleagues, who made a significant contribution to success. He also emphasized how important it was to use the knowledge within the district office in order to solve old tasks more efficiently. City councilor Karin Korte also congratulated at the special prize and emphasized that the new process was a great relief for the practical work of the school and sports office.

The project uses the webgis application Brokeragilis from SRP GmbH, which also did the corresponding programming work.

The award with the Berlin Administrative Prize 2024 is recognition of the innovative and efficient solution that the Neukölln district office has developed in cooperation with its partners. The automation of the production of new elementary school areas has a positive impact on the administrative processes in Neukölln and helps to create a transparent, faster and more adaptable solution.
