New name, old taste: The Kreuzberg wine of the vintage 2022 conquers the output points in Kreuzberg!
"New community spirit: Kreuzberg wine as a symbol for diversity and cooperation"
The Kreuzberg wine of the 2022 vintage is now available under a new name at two output points in Kreuzberg. The wine, which now bears the name "Freedom of Wine", was made by a team from the district. The grapes were cared for on site, harvested and processed into a delicious drop. A special highlight is that due to legal provisions, it must not be specified where the grapes come from that have produced this wine.
The new name was set at a jury session in 2022 after the district office called for the residents to submit proposals to the name. This project illustrates the sense of community and the cooperation within the district, since both local teams and partner cities such as Ingelheim and Wiesbaden were involved in wine production.
diversity and partnership as a base
The idea of growing wine on the Kreuzberg was initiated by the twin city of Wiesbaden in 1968. With the gift of five vines of the Riesling variety from Neroberg, Wiesbaden laid the foundation for wine growing in Kreuzberg. In the following years, other partner cities such as the district of Bergstrasse and Ingelheim am Rhein also contributed vines, so that today around 300 vines are cultivated on the Kreuzberg.
support of the community by donating
A donation can be picked up both red wine and white wine at "Hofgrün" at Methfesselstraße 10 and in the FHXB Museum at Adalbertstraße 95a. This campaign enables residents to participate in the result of the joint work and at the same time support local projects and initiatives.
The Kreuzberg wine "Freedom of wine" stands not only for a high -quality product, but also for community sense, diversity and cooperation. It symbolizes the cultural connection and the use of the residents for a lively and open neighborhood.
