New faces on the university council: Müller and Brandt design the future of the art college

The start of the academic year 2024/25 at the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin is characterized by an exciting change in the university council! With Michael Müller and Stephan M. Brandt, two prominent names are available to direct the fortunes of this renowned educational institution. The two take the places from Werner Kehren and Peter Raue, who leave the committee after two successful terms. The University Council of the Weißensee Kunsthochschule gets a breath of fresh air!

Michael Müller, who acted as a governing mayor of Berlin from December 2014 to December 2021, has an abundance of experience. He was not only a senator for culture, but also a senator for science and research. A true political professional who had the capital of the capital under control! After the Bundestag elections in 2021, he is active in the German Bundestag and thus brings valuable political insight into the university council.

The choice of Müller and Brandt was decided by the academic Senate and officially confirmed by Senator Ina Czyborra. Müller is enthusiastic: "The Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin is an outstanding educational institution that promotes and shapes artistic talents. Stephan M. Brandt, who shines as head of the finance and controlling area at the Investment Bank Berlin, is another stroke of luck for the university council. Since his promotion to the board in April 2024, he has brought a powerful economic perspective to the round. Brandt, always looking for new ways, is looking forward to strengthening the connection between creative ideas and economic knowledge: "I am very happy to accompany the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin as a member of the university council."
