New bicycle road along Schwedter Strasse in Mitte: traffic redesign 2024

A new bicycle road will be set up along Schwedter Strasse in a current initiative of the Mitte district. Between Oderberger Straße and Choriner Straße, this area is designed especially for cyclists in order to create a safe and attractive cycling route away from the main traffic.

The measures include the signage of the bicycle road as well as a clear marking of the road in order to clearly emphasize the new right of way and the distribution of the street for all road users. The redesign of the intersections aims to improve visibility and to facilitate pedestrians to cross the street. In addition, special delivery and charging areas are set up in order to better consider the needs of deliveries and getting in and out.
