Summer discussion in Gertraudenhain: Artists and experts discuss Tiny Forests
The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, informs about the upcoming summer discussion in Gertraudenhain on the Spittelmarkt, which is organized by the Berlin artist Christof Zwiener. During this conversation, the focus will be on the urban reforestation project "Tiny Forest", which was realized together with children from the Froebel daycare center "Schatzinsel" and the neighborhood. Together, 450 tree and shrub seedlings were planted on the prepared area. There is also a discussion about Tiny Forest's potential for creating a better microclimate, with the support of Stefan Scharfe from the board of Miya e. V. from Eberswalde.
The KISR project - Art in the urban space on Leipziger Strasse, financed through the federal program "Future -capable inner cities and centers", plays a central role in the realization of Gertraudenhain. Interested citizens are invited to participate in the joint project and to learn more about the initiative.
Furthermore, the Berlin-Mitte city library in cooperation with the learning workshop-Learn and learn to learn and learn writing workshops that deal with the summer city nature of Berlin. The workshops are an opportunity to literally explore the lively summer events. The first workshop entitled "What does the city nature do in summer?" takes place in the Philipp-Schaeffer library on July 13, 2024 and enables the participants to creatively grasp urban nature. The second workshop in August with the topic "Nature in Stadtmitte" highlights the relationship between man and nature.
The workshops are free of charge and are aimed at adults and young people aged 16 and over, previous knowledge is not required. Interested parties can register via Pretix, spontaneous participation is also possible depending on availability.
