Kiezklasse through the Wedding: Experience Europe in Berlin
Kiezklasse through the Wedding: Experience Europe in Berlin
The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, informs about a neighborhood walk through the Wedding, which will take place on April 26. In cooperation with the EU representative of the Mitte district, Marina Mantay, the non-partisan Europa-Union Berlin offers interested people the opportunity to discover Europe in Berlin. The two -hour walk is accompanied by expert tours and includes stations such as theater, library, museum, monument and university. Local personalities and contemporary witnesses will talk about relevant topics at some stations.
Especially with regard to the upcoming European elections on June 9, 2024, candidates will also take part in the neighborhood walk and give short lectures on European policy issues. The event should enable the participants to talk to the candidates directly and to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. This participatory approach is intended to counteract polarization and disenchantment with politics.
The neighborhood walk starts at Center Français at Müllerstraße 74 in Berlin at 4 p.m. and ends at the Mars restaurant, where all participants are invited to a non-alcoholic drink by the Europa Union. Participation is free of charge, but a prior registration is required due to limited number of participants.
For further information and registration, the press office of the Mitte district at the e-mail address Presse@ba-mitte.berlin.de can be contacted. This neighborhood walk offers a unique opportunity to experience Europe in Berlin and to promote direct exchange with European topics and candidates.
