More appreciation for police officers: Union demands higher wages

In an urgent claim campaign, the police union (GdP) clarifies: It is time for more money and better working conditions for the brave women and men in uniform! "In times when security in Germany is very important, we have to show our police officers the respect and recognition that they deserve," said the passionate call from GdP federal chairman Jochen Kopelke at a press conference.

With a package of far -reaching increases and improvements in the luggage, the unions go to the negotiations on the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD). Not only salary increases are required, but also a significant increase in the layer allowances and time surcharges. This is intended to adequately reward the committed police officers for their tireless work in danger defense and fight against crime!

demands that make you listen

The GdP has put together a list of claims that should be over by those responsible! This includes the introduction of an election model that gives employees more sovereignty about their working hours. In addition, part -time power should finally receive surcharges for overtime if you exceed your individually agreed working hours! In addition, an alignment of working conditions between East and West Germany is required, because every police officer deserves the same appreciation!

Kopelke warns: "The security situation is tense, inflation at a maximum, and rents are increasing. Our members are badly affected!" He reports on an increasing emigration, young police officers who migrate to other federal states or throw the towel. "We have to show the Federal Minister of the Interior and the municipal employers that we are valuable. And that should be reflected in a salary!" Kopelke says urgently.

a powerful call to change

The GdP represents the largest advocacy representative for police officers in Germany with over 5,600 collective staff and 37,000 civil servants. These heroes serve in diverse areas - from house security services, to investigations in crime scene groups to cybercrime. Each of them contributes to the safety of our country and therefore deserves our unrestricted support!

The first round of the hard collective bargaining will take place on January 24, 2025 under the direction of Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser. The GdP is ready to fight for the rights of its members and will not let up until the necessary improvements are achieved!

It is time for us to offer people who fight for our security every day, the wages and working conditions they earn!
