Retirement compass Marzahn-Hellersdorf: Orientation in retirement
In the brochure "Retirement Compass Marzahn-Hellersdorf", opportunities for commitment and offers to support the time after working life are presented. These include ideas for volunteering, offers for mental and physical fitness as well as various suggestions and possibilities in the neighborhoods. The brochure will be sent to all 65-year-old Marzahn-Hellersdorf citizens in June 2024 with an information letter from the district office and is also available in district centers, libraries and in the senior service office. In addition, information events are offered in the district centers to enable encounter and exchange.
The “Active Activation” project aims to give impulses for an active life in old age and to strengthen health literacy in order to support a self -determined life in old age. The implementation of the project is made possible by the project funding of the Association of Replacement Cashys (VDEK) State Representation Berlin/Brandenburg. Social City Councilor Juliane Witt emphasizes the importance of the project to win people in Marzahn-Hellersdorf for clubs and volunteer work.
The head of the VDEK state representation Berlin/Brandenburg, Rebecca Zeljar, emphasizes that the retirement compass offers a valuable orientation aid for a health-conscious way of life in retirement. The brochure should not only strengthen health skills, but also combine social participation with a health -promoting lifestyle. The VDEK is convinced that the project can make an important contribution to the active and healthy lifestyle of the retirees in Marzahn-Hellersdorf.
Overall, the “Retirement Compass Marzahn-Hellersdorf” should help to retire the transition phase from working life and to show opportunities for meaningful commitment and healthy lifestyle in old age.
