New playground fruit salad in Berlin-Mahrzahn inaugurated

On May 15, 2024 at 4:00 p.m., the playground "Fruit Salad" in Marzahner Chaussee 120, 12681 Berlin, officially inaugurated by the district mayor Nadja Zivkovic with the playground commission. After a planning and construction period of three years, the playground was completed on January 25, 2024 for the citizens and children. The funding was carried out from the funds of the party and mass organizations of the former GDR (PMO funds) and from the funds of the green area office.

Already on August 31, 2021, a citizen participation with the then city councilor and now district mayor Ms. Zivkovic (CDU) took place, in which citizens were able to express their wishes for the new playground. Among other things, the landscape architect office Pro Garden was involved to include the ideas of the citizens in the planning. This process led to the “fruit salad” playground as the first public playground in the Friedrichsfelde East district.

The design idea of the playground is based on the conversion of three former allotments into a game area that is fun for children of all ages. There are different play equipment such as the pear play equipment and the swing for the little ones, as well as the apple play equipment with a slide for the larger children. A table tennis plate also offers opportunities for all age groups to become active in sports.
