Franka Flottmann wins the district decision of the reading competition on April 10, 2024

On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the district decision of this year's reading competition took place in the Ehm Welk library. The 6 finalists from the preliminary rounds presented their prepared text passages with a lot of sovereignty and impressed the jury. In the end, Franka Flottmann from Class 6a of the Melanchthon Gymnasium was named the winner after reading from Wolfgang Herrndorf's book "Tschick". It is now represented by our district at Berlin-Excess.

The reading competition, which has been organized by the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels since 1959, is one of the largest nationwide competitions for students. It promotes reading skills and interest in literature among young people. Cooperation with libraries, schools, bookstores and other cultural institutions makes this competition a significant cultural event.

Historically, the reading competition has a long Tradition and has developed into an integral part of literary youth work over the years. The fact that it still takes place successfully today and encourages young people to deal intensively with books and literature is commendable.

The following could be added as a table:
