Next Wednesday, October 16, 2024, the district central library Mark Twain in Berlin opens its doors for a special literary event. The renowned writer and lecturer Kerstin Hensel will read out of her captivating book "Die Glückshaut".

The story revolves around Minna Lichsenring, which was born in the Ore Mountains in 1804 - with a crowd. This rare medical phenomenon promises a life full of happiness. But the fate of Minna takes a tragic turn when her mother leaves her in the forest. There she meets seven mountain boys, with one of them she will later get a son named Johannes. This becomes a handle and disappears from his mother's life. In search of her lost happiness, her son of John, Minna is presented with unusual challenges.

Kerstin Hensel takes the readers into a world with their imaginative narrative art, in reality and imagination. Historical events mix with elements from fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, miner tales and fantastic events that are on E.T.A. Hoffmann remind.
