Attack with air rifle: Orders Official Officer in Berlin under fire!
Chausseestraße, 10115 Berlin, Deutschland - nag/nag editors -
In Berlin-Mitte there was a terrifying incident that puts the city into turmoil. An employee of the regulatory office was shot at with an air rifle during a parking space control in Chausseestrasse. According to T-online this happened when the controller just wrote an advertisement and suddenly felt a stabbing pain on the shin. A total of five shots could be heard, which were probably fired from a opposite apartment block. Fortunately, the employee and her colleague remained unharmed and immediately alerted the police.
The incident not only shaken the employees concerned, but also the district administration. District Mayor Remlinger and City Councilor Christopher Schriner sharply condemned the attack. Remlinger emphasized that violence against employees in the field cannot be tolerated and that such attacks have to be punished with all available means. She pointed out that the employees in parking space monitoring work every day under difficult conditions and therefore earn special protection.
Another attack on the order office employee
But that was not the only incident that endangers the security of the regulatory workers in Berlin. On Thursday morning, a 49-year-old employee of the regulatory office was attacked on Max-Beer-Strasse when he wanted to punish a parking violation. A 54-year-old man who came from a nearby café got into a verbal argument with the employee. The conflict escalated, as the man's son, a 21-year-old, injured the order employee with fist strikes. The employee decided not to use medical help, although his mobile data recording device was damaged. The attacker was arrested and a whipping ring was found. This reports rbb24 .
The incidents are part of a worrying trend in Berlin. A request from the districts showed that numerous attacks on regulatory workers were reported in 2023. 13 incidents were registered in Neukölln, including bodily harm and threats. In Lichtenberg there were attacks in which employees were spit on and beaten. 55 insults and 30 threats were recorded in the middle. These alarming numbers show increasing aggressiveness towards the employees who often work under difficult conditions.
The reaction of the authorities
In order to ensure the safety of employees, the regulatory offices have already taken measures. Many employees are equipped with rubber sticks and pepper spray in order to defend themselves in an emergency. The district office Mitte has even commissioned the procurement of further stimulus sprayers in order to increase the safety of employees. These developments illustrate how serious the situation is and that the authorities do everything they can to protect their employees.
The incidents in Berlin are not only frightening, but also lead a light on the challenges with which the regulatory offices are faced. The employees do an important service for society and deserve to work in a safe environment. The increasing willingness to violence against them is an alarming signal that cannot be ignored.
