Full house at the spring concert: Musikverein Lichtenberg enthusiastic!

Morsbach, Deutschland - On April 28, 2025, the spring concert of the Lichtenberg Music Association took place in Morsbach, which was carried out under the motto "companions". Over 400 guests had gathered, including Mayor Jörg Bukowski as well as family members, friends and sponsors of the association. Musical director Christian Böhmer thanked those present for their support and appreciation of the musical performances.

The selection of the music pieces reflected the concert motto and started with the mood for the event by "Per Asperera ad Astra" and a medley from the musical Elisabeth. A special highlight was the presentation of the legend "The Pied Piper of Hameln", which was performed by Ulrich E. Hein, a former teacher at the Hollenberg-Gymnasium, and accompanied by the orchestra musically. This performance included an impressive duration of over 30 minutes.

As part of the concert, deserved members were also honored. The saxophonist Johannes Schneider and the Horn-Bläser Harald Weschenbach received recognition for their 50-year membership in the folk musician association NRW and in the Musikverein Lichtenberg. These honors underlined the connection and tradition of the association.

Another highlight was the performance of the youth ensemble, which consisted of five girls and a boy and performed two songs under the direction of Lina Schlechingen: "Great Gray Giants" and Coldplays "Viva La Vida". This was a nice opportunity to experience the next generation of young musicians in action.

The second experiment of the afternoon was particularly innovative: "Purple drums". Here the drummer Felix Christ and Bastian Pigors impressed with their breathtaking solos, who delighted the audience. The concert found its glorious degree with an ED-Sheeran-Medley, the Kaiserin-Sissi march and two encores that stimulated the audience to standing ovation.

The program of this previous concert also included the march "The badge" as well as "Nightflight to Paris" and the Paso Doble "Espana Cani", in which impressive trumpet performances could be heard. A presentation entitled "2020’s Pop Divas on Stage" brought hits from Ava Max, Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa on stage and also ensured a positive response in the audience that thanked with a standing ovation.

These two concerts impressively show how the Lichtenberg Music Association combines both tradition and innovation in its performances and appeals to a wide audience.
