Next Friday, September 13, 2024, the time has come again - the art mile 2024 in the Weitlingkiez will be opened. The ceremonial event begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Café Weit.Blick at Archenholdstraße 25 in Berlin. District Mayor Martin Schaefer will lead the guests through the opening. A separate registration for the opening event is not required.

The art mile transforms the Weitlingkiez from September 13th to October 13, 2024 into a unique art exhibition. Local shops and social facilities open their shop windows and walls for hobby and professional artists from the region. Various art forms such as photography, painting, pottery, textile art, installations and poetry find their place in the shops and facilities of the neighborhood.

District Mayor Martin Schaefer emphasizes the importance of the art mile and praises the commitment of the organizers and the participating artists. The art mile is an important element for a lively and diverse Lichtenberg that combines art and community.

During the art mile, visitors have the opportunity to take part in a free tour at Münsterlandplatz every Saturday at 2:00 p.m. There you get an insight into the history of the art mile, get to know the artists and explore the exhibition venues. The final event of the art mile takes place on October 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oskar | Volunteering agency instead.

The art mile in the Weitlingkiez is an annual event that is organized on a voluntary basis by committed neighbors.
