pop-up gallery in the ring center: interactive performance on August 10
On the coming Saturday, August 10, 2024, visitors to the Ring Center II at Frankfurter Allee 113 awaits a very special event in Berlin. The artist Catalin Pöge will present an interactive performance in the pop-up Gallery from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. But what exactly does guests expect in this unusual action?
Catalin Pöge, not only an artist, but also the author and coach, asks the question of her performance: "What is the most important thing in life?". In the middle of the hustle and bustle of the shopping center and surrounded by other contemporary works of art, she will reflect on this essential topic for an entire working day. Pöge deals primarily with the topics of change and social transformation, and would like to encourage visitors to think about their own values and priorities.
The pop-up Gallery is part of a larger project that started in the Ring Center II in mid-July 2024. The "Pop-up Gallery-Made in Lichtenberg" is an initiative of the Lichtenberg business development agency, which, in cooperation with the Ring Center II, is implementing an innovative concept of intermediate use. A total of 39 contemporary works of art will be presented on vacant shops by August 27, 2024, which creates an exciting connection between retail and art and creative industries.
The exhibition is not only a cultural enrichment for the center, but also shows how the locations of retailers can get new impulses through creative uses. The pop-up gallery invites visitors to experience art in a whole new way and also think about important life questions.
