Spring semester 2024: Diverse range of courses on the VHS Lichtenberg

The Margarete Steffin Volkshochschule Berlin-Lichtenberg starts its spring semester at the beginning of January 2024 with an extensive program of courses and individual events at over 30 locations throughout the district. District Mayor Martin Schaefer (CDU) praises the diverse, attractive and inexpensive range of the VHS Lichtenberg and encourages citizens to pursue their interests and learn new skills.

A number of new courses and events are planned for the spring semester. This includes topics such as digital transformation, foreign languages, political education, environment, rhetoric, cooking, basic education and cultural education. It is worth mentioning, among other things, a day workshop for digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in a professional context. A course is also offered in which the participants learn how to improve their linguistic skills with the help of generative AI. In addition, a “walking series Stadtnatur” is offered in cooperation with the environmental office in Lichtenberg to discover the natural monuments and the biodiversity of the district. In addition, a new course on rhetoric is offered for teachers who are recognized as an education period.

In addition, courses for promoting basic education are offered that support people with low reading and writing knowledge and a lack of basic education in finding easier access to the world of work. New courses have also been introduced in the field of cultural education, including topics such as creative writing, improvisation theater, textile design and the Berlin art scene.
