Living library: exciting stories that break prejudices!

An extraordinary event is imminent: On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the foyer of the district central library Spandau in Berlin becomes a special place of encounter from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Organized by the Spandau City Library and the Library Library, the space is transformed into an interactive library that promotes exchange about personal experiences.

The term “living books” focuses on. Volks who share their stories and knowledge will be available to visitors. Topics such as sexism, racism, disposableism and queer hostility are treated, as are the realities of life of people with reading problems or chronic diseases. Discrimination experiences of people Muslim and Jewish faith as well as the challenges that people from certain social classes meet in training and work are also discussed.

The concept of the lively library aims to reduce prejudices and to enable respectful, trusting exchange about personal experiences.
