On Wednesday, June 11, 2024, Galerie 100 in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen will open an exciting exhibition entitled "At the same time". The opening begins at 7 p.m. and admission is free. Works by a total of five artists, including four artists-Maria Luise Faber, Karin Gralki, Sigrid Herdam and Nadine Nelken-are shown-and the artist Uwe-Jens Raddatz. Everyone involved studied at the renowned art college in Berlin-Weißensee in the 1980s, under the guidance of professors Jo Jastram and Baldur Schönfelder.

The exhibition offers a wide range of artistic forms of expression. Painting, graphics, drawings, collages, sculptures, objects and digital animations are shown. This diversity reflects the individual approaches and styles of the artists who connect to their artistic roots.

diverse works of art and topics

In the work of Maria Luise Faber, the focus is on ceramic sculptures that deal with natural structures. Karin Gralki, on the other hand, prefers sandstone, print graphics and hand drawings, dealing with lines. Sigrid Herdam addresses the merger of humans and machines in their work that use sandstone, color pigments, rust and metal parts. Nadine Nelken shows drawings, sculptures and animated transformations, inspired by escape movements. Uwe-Jens Raddatz, whose estate is presented, concentrated in his works on the color black and leaves an impressive legacy of drawings, painting and plastic.

The exhibition runs until August 17, 2025. The opening times are Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors also have the option of participating in various cultural programs and art historical lectures in the gallery. In addition, the Gallery 100 offers an art rental that allows those interested in art to borrow works of art for certain periods.

Education and articles

The Berlin-Weißensee art college, from which these talented artists come, offers extensive courses in the field of free art, including painting, sculpture as well as stage and costume. The bachelor's degree extends over 8 semesters and comprises 240 credit points. In addition, there is the possibility to apply for a master with a standard period of study of 4 to 6 semesters and a degree with 120 or 300 credit points. A one-year artistic-design basic course is part of all basic courses.

With this exhibition, the gallery not only celebrates the individual creativity of its artists, but also the long tradition of art education in Berlin.
