A look at the streets - and the alarm bells ring! Every fourth car in Germany will not be properly illuminated! This is a shock, especially when the nights get longer and the risk of accidents increases! The consequences are becoming more serious-which is why the free light test is offered by the Deutsche Verkehrswacht (DVW) and the Central Association of German Motor Motor Show (ZDK) again in October. This year under the urgent motto "Safe through the darkness".
The action: Security is going on!
For an incredible 67 years, drivers have been checked for free of charge of the lighting of their vehicles! If everything works, there is the coveted light test badge as a reward, which we all stick to our windscreen clearly visible. It is not only a sign of security, but also an important plus for traffic controls! Every year, millions of drivers cannot miss this light test. It is one of the greatest actions on traffic safety in all of Germany!
The professionals in the participating workshops take a close look at the lighting system of cars and commercial vehicles. But be careful! However, it is not free of charge - unfortunately, drivers have to pay for material and working hours. Every year, thousands of defect reports go to the DVW for evaluation. The ZDK informed about the most common problems: the headlights are often incorrectly set, which means that either oncoming traffic is blinded or the visibility is greatly reduced. And that's not all - some of the headlights are even completely out! Be sure to go to the workshop, my friends!
The success story of the light test!
A review of the story shows that the traffic watch was founded more than a hundred years ago and is committed to traffic safety in Germany. After cuts in the National Socialism period, the DVW was re -founded in 1950 and initiated groundbreaking projects such as the school pilots and school traffic education. The light test, which was launched in 1956, is still a striker! The "International Lighting Week" has been in October since 1957 and the light test has produced countless lifesavers since then!
