Climate protection in the crisis: Federal Government has to set priorities again
Investments in the future: Why the household has to be designed more climate -friendly
The latest discussion about the federal budget shows how important it is to invest the financial means in a targeted manner in sustainable and promising projects. The current plans that could mean withdrawal in climate protection arise, not only with regard to the German climate goals, but also with regard to the long -term competitiveness of the German economy.
dr. Katharina Reuter, Managing Director of the Federal Association of Sustainable Economy (BNW), commented on the planned cuts in areas that should support essential climate protection measures, such as the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) and the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Security (BMUV). These organizations play a key role in promoting technologies that are essential for a sustainable future.
The basic debate revolves around the "global minor edition". This financial policy concept could, if it is used incorrectly, do the opposite of what is necessary: the creation of stable economic framework through targeted investments. Instead, the danger of a short -sighted austerity policy is discussed that goes at the expense of innovative -promoting measures. It is of great importance that the federal government sends the right signals and separates from climate -damaging subsidies - such as those for petrochemical products.
Especially with regard to the upcoming challenges, it is crucial that the debt brake is covered. The BNW demands an investment clause that enables it to invest in education, infrastructure and climate protection without violating the budget regulations. This would be a step in the right direction to secure Germany's competitiveness in the international markets.
The importance of this topic extends far beyond the political discussions in Berlin. Ultimately, the economic consequences could also affect the people in the communities who rely on sustainable solutions and jobs. The change towards a more environmentally friendly and future -proof economy is not only necessary to achieve the climate goals, but also to secure future jobs in a changing labor market.
The current situation demands our attention. The proactive examination of these topics could not only meet the current challenges, but also create a perspective for sustainable economic growth.
