Fight for home: Pensioners against Investor - decision is approaching

In the district court of Wedding, almost 50 people gathered to pursue the trial against Manfred Moslehner, also known as a man. At the age of 84 he was about to clear his parents' home in Berlin-Reinickendorf, where he spent his whole life. The investor who acquired the settlement intends to modernize and resell the houses, which led to some dismissal.

Manne, a lonely pensioner and former machine locksmith, was in court with his lawyer to defend his home. The judge, who was entrusted with the case, was depressed and doubted whether a judgment had to be made. The long struggle of the tenants against the investor's modernization plans has left deep traces, and the situation leads to emotional discussions in the courtroom.

The settlement on Steinberg, in which Manne lives, has been subject to strong changes since a real estate sale in 2010. The tenants who had lived in simple houses for generations fought against the repression and loss of their homeland. Manne refused to allow the modernization work on the house, for fear of losing his home.

The judge who is entrusted with the case showed sympathy for the tenants and men, and took the opportunity to look for an alternative solution to prevent the evacuation. In the midst of the impending judgment, there is a delicate hope for a last round of negotiations to reach an agreement between the tenants and the investor. The political presence of a member of the Bundestag could be a last glimmer of hope for men and tenants.
