Jewish for beginners: a podcast about culture and dialogue in Berlin
A look behind the scenes of Jewish life! Beran Arukaslan makes it possible! The 18-year-old ex-student of the Jewish high school Moses Mendelssohn in Berlin Mitte started his own podcast project: "Jewish for beginners". He brings a breath of fresh air to the world of Jewish life and shares his fascinating insights with peers!
As a curator of Jewish culture, Beran, who comes from a Turkish-Muslim family, turns out to be a surprising bridge builder. He used his school days to get to the bottom of Jewish history and lively culture in Germany. "If you know each other better, you get on better," he explains his mission. And he is right: knowledge is the key to understanding!
a trip to Jewish culture
in "Jewish for beginners" Beran speaks in seven exciting episodes, each of which lasts about 30 minutes, with selected members of the Jewish community in Germany. And the best? He visits his guests on site, breaks with the sterility of the recording studio and lets us immerse themselves in the true Jewish life. So the podcast becomes alive and authentic!
From October 4, the Jewish New Year, it starts! The first episode is already available everywhere: whether Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Amazon Music. Guest is none other than Yitzhak Ehrenberg, the rabbi of the Jewish community in Berlin. He gives an exclusive insight into his everyday life as a rabbi and the challenges that his family life connects with the service. It couldn't be more exciting!
Festival of Diversity
What else can the listeners expect? Beran has invited prominent guests! Musical interludes by Ben Salomo, benefit from the insights of the director of the Jewish Museum Berlin, Hetty Berg, or from the creative perspectives of the photographer and entrepreneur Yoram Roth. Everyone brings their own history and unique experiences!
This innovative project is funded by the Quadriga University of Berlin, produced in the Berlin podcast studio "Studio36" and committed by the "Hell & Karrer" agency. Together they show a strong sign of Jewish culture in Germany and the intercultural dialogue!
