An exciting chapter in the history of the German Verkehrswacht (DVW) is imminent! This organization was founded in Berlin on November 3, 1924 and since then it has written an unprecedented success story in the field of voluntary prevention work. The DVW's annual general meeting will take place on November 6, 2024 in the renowned Langenbeck-Virchow-Haus in Berlin Mitte on November 6, 2024.
The ceremony is given by a greeting from the Federal Minister of Transport Dr. Volker Wissing opened, which will underline the importance of DVW and its work. But that's not all: a new wind is blowing! Prof. Kurt Bodewig, who has successfully managed the DVW for 17 years, will resign early. The dynamic Kirsten Lühmann runs in his place. She becomes the first woman at the head of the organization - a historical moment! Lühmann has an impressive career: 27 years of police service in Lower Saxony and over a decade as a member of the German Bundestag. The DVW will certainly benefit its expertise as a traffic policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group.
