Jordan and NATO countries help: drone shot down

In the night of Sunday, Jordan also ensured that numerous Iranian drones were shot down. According to media reports, dozens of these drones could be stopped near the Iraqi-Syrian border, whereby their destination was Jerusalem. The Jordan government confirmed this campaign and explained that the drones shot down had entered the Jordanian airspace, but without causing any major damage or violating people.

Despite Iran's warnings of interference in the conflict, Jordan confirmed that it would shoot drones if they violate airspace. As a precaution, Jordan had closed the airspace on Saturday evening in the course of the escalation of the risks in the region and only reopened after ten hours on Sunday morning. During the attack of Iran on Israel, there were reports even in Jordan even downright debris from shot down rockets.

It is particularly noteworthy that Jordan as an Arab country did not only act against Iran, but also against neighboring Arab countries like Syria. This step illustrates the transformation of Jordan from the enemy to the ally, especially in view of the peace treaty with Israel, which was signed in 1995 and established Jordan as long -time military opponents of Israel.
