The anticipation for the largest German media award for the disabled is huge! The German Paralympic Media Award (GPMA) goes into the 24th round and will be awarded on April 9, 2025 in Berlin. Presented by the German Statutory Accident Insurance (DGUV), the award celebrates outstanding journalistic contributions that tells the impressive stories and challenges of athletes with disabilities.
Who hasn't ever wondered: How is the fascinating game of blind football characterized? Or how does one of the best athletes train, Markus Rehm to get to the top? These and many other moving topics are the focus of the GPMA, which underlines the importance of inclusion and rehabilitation through sport.

The expectations for the upcoming submissions are high! After the great success of the Paralympics in Paris, where the athletes with disabilities delighted millions, the competition for the awards becomes more intensive than ever. So many competitions have never been broadcast live on television and so many reports have been published. The GPMA 2025 promises to become a spectacular event in which the audience can experience the emotions of the Paralympics up close again.
Federal Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Hubertus Heil, has already agreed to be present at the award ceremony. This shows how seriously the topic of disabled sports has arrived under national discourse.
