Heat alarm in Berlin and Brandenburg: up to 36 degrees and the risk of forest fire
in Berlin and Brandenburg is an extremely hot day ahead, which could increase the temperatures up to 36 degrees Celsius. The German Weather Service (DWD) has therefore issued a heat warning for both regions. This warning is not only an indication of the high temperature, but also a serious reminder to protect yourself from the consequences of the greatest heat. Doctors shape the image of the "heating stress", which can recover considerable health risks in such an extreme weather situation.
The weather starts friendly, but you shouldn't be surprised in the afternoon when heavy thunderstorms and rain showers open in an easterly direction. The DWD recommends not to expose itself to the sun unnecessarily, to consume enough liquid and keep your own four walls cool. These principles are particularly important to avoid serious health complications such as cardiovascular problems or heat strokes.
weather forecasts and risks
The current weather is not only characterized by the heat, the risk of forest fires is also high to extremely high in almost all Brandenburg counties. The western part of the country in particular is affected. Yesterday there was only a few kilometers from the popular "Tropical Islands" amusement park to a forest fire, which quickly required an extensive extinguishing rate. In this incident, about three hectares of forest in the Dahme-Spreewald district were on fire. The cause of the fire remains unknown until further notice.
With the approach of the evening, the weather is shifted because some clouds are drawn up. Local rain and thunderstorms can be expected in northwestern Brandenburg, which could alleviate the high heat somewhat. At night, the temperatures drop to more pleasant values between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius. On Friday, however, a continuation of the cloudy conditions will bring, accompanied by scattered showers, and the temperatures will adjust to 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
The nightly clouds are also preserved in the transition from Friday to Saturday, with rainfall predicted in some regions. The temperatures on Saturday morning are expected to drop to 11 to 15 degrees Celsius. This represents a significant downward movement compared to the extremely hot day.
The heat warning goes hand in hand with a warning of the DWD regarding the potential increase in the risk of forest fire. In a press conference, a DWD spokesman emphasized the population to point out the security guidelines, in particular with regard to grill festivals and the inflammation of campfires. Responsible handling of fire is particularly important during these extreme weather conditions to minimize the risk of forest fires.
