Together for a good cause: Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch collects 5,000 euros for the Schönwalde volunteer fire brigade

In the period of two months, the Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch carried out a fundraising campaign for a non-profit purpose for the fourth time. The employees of the clinic were involved in a sport and covered kilometers, for whom the clinic each donated one euro. A total of 5,000 euros came together, who are now benefiting from the Schönwalde volunteer fire brigade.

The #Helioslauf campaign was very well received by the employees of the Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch. No matter whether running, walking or jogging, they committed kilometers for a good cause. Some employees even took part in (half) marathons and contributed diligently to the number of kilometers. A total of 5,000 euros were collected for a good cause due to these sporting activities.

The Berlin team was 5 x 5 km of team relay in May this year, in which a total of ten teams from the clinic started. Already there the Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch was able to hand over the first 1,000 euros to the Schönwalde volunteer fire brigade.

"I think it's great that #Heliios runs for several years in our clinic calendar and that many employees have also participated in the running campaign this summer, thanks to which we can support the Schönwalde volunteer fire brigade and its regional club work with a donation. For this commitment, I am very grateful for this commitment," says Carmen Bier, Clinic Managing Director in the Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch.

The ceremonial handover to the Schönwalde volunteer fire brigade took place on August 12th. Rico Böttcher, local defense guide, thanked him for the generous donation. The Schönwalde volunteer fire brigade had never received such a high donation before. Part of the donation will benefit the committed youth fire brigade, which also celebrated an anniversary. But the donation also becomes a special surprise for the other members.
