Vast majority demands prohibition of Pfas: Minister Lauterbach under pressure

Everyone knows the shadows that throw the pfas! In Berlin, the capital, where decisions are made, an alarming survey by the BUND (Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation Germany) has thrown light on the controversial eternal slays. According to the opinion research company Civey, over 75 percent of the Germans who are familiar with PFAS are calling for a strict EU-wide prohibition of this fire-safe substance. People are clear: they want health minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) to finally take responsibility and act!

For everyone who is wondering what PFAs are: they are poly and perfluated alkyl substances that are in many everyday products such as water-repellent jackets and dirt-resistant carpets. But the dark truth is that these chemicals not only remain in our products, but also enrich themselves in our bodies and the environment in an unbelievable dangerous way. A new BUND test has shown alarming values at subjects-PFAS concentrations in health-critical areas! Time is pushing!

The facts are alarming!

Luise Körner, the head of chemical policy at the federal government, clarifies: "People know about the risk to health and the environment." The crucial point is: PFAs are an invisible threat! We absorb these chemicals about the air, our drinking water and even in food. The episode? Organ damage, cancer and diabetes are on alert! If you have children, you should particularly sit down, because hardly any child is still born in your blood without pfas today.

The new BUND petition is entitled "Pfas chemicals: stops the invisible danger" and is a clear call to Health Minister Lauterbach: "It is time to act!" The EU has already initiated talks to regulate these dangerous substances, but the mighty chemical industry tries everything to prevent a complete restriction. According to the Körner, the government is not allowed to watch our health in danger!

how dangerous are pfas really?

The stability of these chemicals is terrifying: some of them can survive in the environment for more than a thousand years! The increasing burden on the body leads to serious health damage. Diseases such as thyroid diseases, liver damage, or even an increased risk of different types of cancer are documented consequences of these ominous substances. Here is something that cannot be ignored!

representative surveys and blood tests repeatedly show the worrying concentrations of PFAS. While the EU is working on a comprehensive regulation to ban the entire group of fabric, the pressure on Health Minister Lauterbach and the Federal Government remains enormous! We all have to be careful and become active, because the time for inactivity has expired!
